The 2007 Reunion was a success.  Everyone who missed the Reunion, well, what can we say. The Reunion was hosted at the Hampton Marina Hotel (formerly Radisson Hotel) in Hampton, Virginia. The reunion was from Tuesday, 11 September through Saturday, 15 September.

We wish the 509th, 510th, 511th and 405th members a safe trip home, and remind them to check back with the website often.  Everyone is encouraged to go through their attics, trunks, and basements to dig out stored memories, photos and documents which can be archived on the website.

Newport News and Hampton are surprisingly lacking in waterfront accommodations, but the Hampton Marina Hotel is a much appreciated exception.  Along with picturesque city and bay views, guest rooms offer coffeemaker, cable TV with pay-per-view movies, and hair dryer.  The hotel also features ample covered parking, a business center, rooftop pool, and fitness center.  Dining options include an award-winning seafood restaurant, a sports bar and grill, and room service.  Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the hotel.

Air transportation:  Norfolk International Airport.  American, Continental, Delta, Northwest, Southwest, US Airways and United.  Rental cars include:  Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty.

In addition to the normal activities, we are planning to dedicate a memorial at Langley Air Force Base to honor the 405th Fighter Wing and squadrons:  509th, 510th and 511th.  Plans are being made to have a tour of the First Fighter Wing and their F-22 Raptors.

Plan on self-guided tours to the special attrations listed below.  For those needing assistance or desiring group visits, we will contract transportation and guides based on registration responses.

The Hampton area has lots of attractions to visit.  Plan to visit nearby Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown Battlefield and Jamestown Colony (400 year anniversary).  Hampton Roads Naval Museum, Hampton Historical Society and Hampton Air and Space Museum are near the hotel.  Victory Rover Naval Base Cruise.  Hampton Air Power Park.  Newport News Naval Shipyard.  Newport News Mariners Museum.  Geneal MacArthur Museum and burial site in Norfolk.  The Cousteau Society.  Those with more time may wish to visit the new Air Force Memorial in Arlington, VA.  Plantation visits and seafood restaurants are in abundance.

Join us for hors'deurves, cash bar and hours of socializing, story telling and sharing memories on Thursday evening for the Flightsuit/BDU/Partysuit Social.

Come and join in the fellowship and meet some great people.  Our reunions have been well represented by veterans from WW2, Langley and Bien Hoa.  We would like see more of you from Bentwaters, Spangdehlem and Aviano to help us carry on our great traditions and history.  Miss the reunion and you miss the chance to share some great stories.
